Increase / Decrease Size of Local Disk / Partition in Windows

Sometime we need to change size of Local Disk / Partition with in Windows.

For this purpose following is the method for changing size of Local Disk / Partition.

Decrease Size :

Step 1 :

Open Disk Management.

Step 2 :

Right Click on desired disk.

A drop down menu will be opened.

Step 3 :

Press Shrink Volume.

A dialog box will be opened.

Step 4 :

Enter the amount of space you want to deduct from the disk.

Press Shrink.

Result :

Size of Local Disk will be decreased as desired.

Increase Size :

Step 1 :

Open Disk Management.

Step 2 :

Right Click on desired disk.

A drop down menu will be opened.

Step 3 :

Press Extend Volume.

A dialog box will be opened.

Step 4 :

Enter the amount of space you want to add to desired disk.

Press Next & then Press Finish.

Result :

Size of Local Disk will be increased as desired.
