Create a Bootable Windows / Linux USB

Windows installation directly from CD or DVD is slow. To speed up windows installation use USB instead of CD / DVD. For this purpose USB must be booted with windows installation setup which will work as a CD for you. Below are the step by step tutorials in which USB can be booted with Windows Installation Setup.

In each tutorial different booting software is used.

Power ISO :

Step 1 :

Insert a healthy USB flash drive.

Step 2 :

Run Power ISO as Administrator


Step 3 :

In the Menu toolbar, Press Tools A drop down menu will appear.

Step 4 :

In the drop down menu, Press Create Bootable USB Drive
A dialog box will appear.

Step 5 :

Specify Image File in the dialog box.

Step 6 :

Select USB in the dialog box.

Step 7 :

Press Start USB booting will be started.

Result :

USB will be booted with Installation Setup and which will work as CD / DVD.

Rufus :

Step 1 :

Insert a healthy USB flash drive.

Step 2 :

Run Rufus

Step 3 :

Specify Image File.

Step 4 :

Select USB.

Step 5 :

Press Start USB booting will be started.

Result :

USB will be booted with Installation Setup and which will work as CD / DVD.

RMPrepUSB :

Step 1 :

Insert a healthy USB flash drive.

Step 2 :

Run RMPrepUSB

Step 3 :

Select USB.

Step 4 :

Specify Image File by Pressing File --> Drive button.

Step 5 :

Specify Start and End bits of USB.

Step 6 :

USB booting will be started.

Result :

USB will be booted with Installation setup and will work just like CD / DVD.

Note :

Total size of USB will be reduced but don't worry it is just hidden and can recovered by formatting it through CMD.

WintoBootic :

Step 1 :

Insert a healthy USB flash drive.

Step 2 :

Run WintoBootic

Step 3 :

Select USB.

Step 4 :

Drag Image File to WintoBootic dialog box.

Step 5 :

Press Do it! USB booting will be started.

Result :

USB will be booted with Installation setup and will work just like CD / DVD.

Linux Live USB Creator (LiLi) :

Step 1 :

Insert a healthy USB flash drive.

Step 2 :

Run Linux Live USB Creator (LiLi)

Step 3 :

Select USB.

Step 4 :

Specify Image File by pressing ISO button.

OR

If you have a CD / DVD specify CD drive by clicking CD button.

OR

If you have no CD / DVD or Image File, then Press Download button and download your desired setup directly from internet.

Step 5 :

Specify Persistence File size.

Step 6 :

Press Lightning Icon USB booting will be started.

Result :

USB will be booted with Installation setup and will work just like CD / DVD.

UNetBootin :

Step 1 :

Insert a healthy USB flash drive.

Step 2 :

Run UNetBootin

Step 3 :

Specify Image File by using Disk Image options.

OR

If you have no Image File, then use Distribution options.

Step 4 :

Select USB.

Step 5 :

Press OK USB booting will be started.

Result :

USB will be booted with Installation setup and will work just like CD / DVD.

Step 1 :

Insert a healthy USB flash drive.

Step 2 :

Run Universal USB Installer

Step 3 :

Press I Agree

Step 4 :

Select Linux Distribution which you want to boot.

Specify Image File by pressing Browse button.

OR

If you have no Image File, then check Download Link check box.

Step 6 :

Select USB.

Step 7 :

Specify Persistence File size.

Step 8 :

Press Create button. USB booting will be started.

Result :

USB will be booted with Installation setup and will work just like CD / DVD.

Step 1 :

Insert a healthy USB flash drive.

Step 2 :

Run ZOTAC WinUSBMaker

Step 3 :

Drag target USB to ZOTAC WinUSBMaker dialog box.

Drag Image File to ZOTAC WinUSBMaker dialog box.

Step 5 :

Press Make USB Bootable button. USB booting will be started.

Result :

USB will be booted with Installation setup and will work just like CD / DVD.

Win Setup From USB :

Step 1 :

Insert a healthy USB flash drive.

Step 2 :

Run Win Setup From USB

Step 3 :

Select USB.

Step 4 :

Specify Image Files by checking correct categories and select required Image Files.

Step 5 :

Press GO button. USB booting will be started.

Result :

USB will be booted with Installation setup and will work just like CD / DVD.

Xboot :

Step 1 :

Insert a healthy USB flash drive.

Step 2 :

Run Xboot

Step 3 :

Drag Image Files to Xboot dialog box.

Step 4 :

Press Create USB button.
A dialog box will appear.

Select USB.

Step 6 :

Select Boot Loader.

Step 7 :

Press OK.
USB booting will be started.

Result :

USB will be booted with Installation setup and will work just like CD / DVD.
